Day 17 - K2K

Rain fell on and off (mostly on) during saturday. The sun broke through for a very few minutes, here and there...

The staff concert, as always, jammed threadgill to overflowing. Great sprit abounded..

Mainstage this evening started in a light rain with a great set from Michael lillie, Tom Kimmel, and kate wallace. Ruthie foster followed, and blew the house down.. great performance from this newly rising star.. Steven Fromholz was his usual excellent cowboy self, and caroline aiken was super in her new purple hair.. Rod Kennedy didn't even recognize her when she gave him a hug..

Peter Rowan absolutely cooked in the last set of the night, as he was joined by (among others) David Amram and Lorin Rowan.

Most of the rest of the night was lost in a blur of rain-soaked feet and bodies.. The sun rose with crows nest cooking and stupid still going strong..

Energy is starting to leave the ranch, as the festival begins to draw to a close.. Jack Hardy, Jack Williams and dozens of others i can't remember now, have left, and packing is beginning..

The thought for Day 18 is: "even a sucky day at kerrville is still better than 320 others you'll have this year."

Coming to you direct from the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas

Peace and love to all..
